Chapter 1

Bolt’s Pov

This summer seemed to last forever, me and my friends had secretly decided to go visit the grand canyon in the realm, we love the thrill of adventures..... unfortunately my dad never let me leave, it annoyed me to no end. when me and my friends met up at the border, we made our way there, eagerness jumped into our paws which made us want to jump around. Lupus, my friend from the Typhoon pack, looked around worriedly, he was always a worrywart, even though he wasn’t the oldest, he still worried about everyone. Inferno of the Cape Pack. He was my hot-headed friend. He always got angry at the slightest of things, this kept us laughing so much, he was surprisingly the oldest and more serious one out of the four. Lastly in our little group, there was Oracle, the pup of the group if you like, she came from the Tidal Pack, when we went to a lake nearby, she turned into a merewolf which is soooo cool! We all had our differences so we would stand out in a crowd during any gathering.

As my paws came to the bright orange rocks of the canyon, I smiled, this was it, the place we had wanted to visit, from where we were standing, the whole canyon looked humongous! Oracle and Lupus were amazed by the huge canyon, while Inferno had the world's most bored look on his face, I couldn’t help but be amazed at the canyon myself, it was better than we had hoped for. I soon noticed something was wrong, the once bright place turned dark and cold, I shivered in fear, Inferno started growling, looking around for the danger. Lupus and Oracle had shrunken in fear, the dark made them look so small, I had to stay strong for them so I looked around as well.... until I noticed a silhouette of a wolf........ the only thing different..... it had wings!! Inferno noticed as well and shrunk in fear himself. I looked up to find who that wolf was. Once I saw the wolf, its eyes glared down at me, the purple glare stared with such hatred, I had never seen a wolf with purple eyes and wings.... it fascinated me but.... I felt like I knew this wolf from somewhere........ Suddenly, I heard a menacing growl behind that wolf, so menacing it could even send the bravest wolves running, I looked down and sure enough there was a Nemesis there, I had heard of them from my dad, they were created by the evil she-wolf End, the world’s scariest wolf. I then realised, there wasn’t a putrid scent that the Nemesis would usually give off, but a very familiar scent, like a mother’s scent.... I wasn’t quite sure. “Bolt! Watch out!” Inferno called out to me, I ducked from a Nemesis and turned back to the wolf and saw a larger pure white wolf leaping at the coal black wolf. “Dad?”. My Father looked at me and growled: "Get out of here!". I whimpered then looked at everyone “Inferno, Lupus, Oracle, let's go!”. They nodded, their eyes wide with fear, I turned to see if they were still fighting, they were...so...we just ran.

We had ran until we reached my pack, our legs stiff and our paws hurting, I don’t know how long we ran for, but it seemed like we ran for ages. I saw my dad come back into camp with just a few cuts, no matter how much I hated him, I still worry for my own dad, he was my only flesh and blood. By the time dad came back, we were talking to the Alpha about what had happened, he had told us that we were very, very lucky that we survived an attack like that, he then directed us to the elders in my pack, one of the oldest wolves in Aenanor. I only wished dad went with us, that old wolf was always so grumpy, old age? Maybe. The elders had us sit down in front of them and we looked up at them, their fur turning white from old age. We had no idea what the elders wanted to talk to us about. “Listen here, young pup,” they started, more stories no doubt, I always thought that, “,what we are about to tell you is very important, so listen carefully, this is your prophecy, you will have to fulfil it” the elders then closed their eyes and looked up at the sky, we did the same, wondering what they were doing. They started chanting “In the end, only the strongest will survive, one of water one of sky, one of earth and one of fire, the darkness will vanish along with the light, the four will conjure, the most brightest light” I opened my eyes and looked at them, quite confused. “This is your prophecy, fulfil it and win back our land by destroying the End wolf once and for all”. I looked over at my friends with such fear in my eyes, they themselves were terrified, even Inferno. I got up and left the elders, the others following behind me. I looked over at Oracle who was whispering "How can we destroy the End wolf?". I sighed and kept walking.

That night, I didn't sleep, I was too worried about what was about to happen. I was only a small pup, what could I do to beat the End wolf?!, I sighed and looked up at the sky filled with stars, something I always found peace in, of course, Inferno had to beat me at that, he lived nearer to the sky, so he had a better view. I then heard paw steps behind me, I turned my head and saw my dad. He smiled and laid next to me, “So what did the elders tell ya kid?” he asked. I sighed and whispered, "That there’s a prophecy and...we have to destroy the End wolf". I heard my dad sigh and look up at the stars, “well, I’m sure you’ll be able to do it, your uncle Axel is going with you according to the Alpha, so you’ll be protected at least”. "Will you be coming with? The others are too scared...", I hoped the answer would be yes, “I’m sorry son,” when the words left his mouth I knew he wouldn’t be coming “I won't be able to come, I have another mission I have to attend to”. "What mission?' I asked, he looked down at me “Nothing you need to worry about, now sleep, you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow”. I sighed and got to my paws and stretched, yawning as I did, “goodnight dad” I called as I walked into our den, I heard him say goodnight before I fell asleep into a dreamless sleep.

I was prodded awake by a very large looking wolf. I jumped, scared at who this strange wolf was until I heard him laugh. "I thought my brother said you were a brave pup" he teased with a laugh, “Hey!! I am a brave pup” I growled. "Yeah, we'll see that later then", I chuckled, my uncle had always been the joker, he kept dad happy when mother left. Axel poked me on the head before leaving the den, I got up, stretching my limbs out and shaking my tail awake before I padded outside into the bright morning sun. I saw Axel sitting with everyone else, I smiled and ran over there, plopping my bum next to inferno. I then saw the Alpha and an elder walk over. I looked at them curiously. "There are two other wolves just outside our borders, they wish to help" The Alpha told them. I huffed, why would we need more wolves?!, five was enough! The Alpha then walked away while the Elder looked at us solemnly, I watched him, glaring. Lupus looked at me "M-Maybe they can help..." I sighed for what seemed like the 100th time in two days “How do you suppose they help?!” Before Lupus replied to me, my uncle interrupted "They're coming with, end of". I growled but said nothing of it. Now all we had to do was wait until we left.

I looked up, we were told to leave at noon, it was nearly time. Inferno was basking in the sun, Oracle was doing what she did best, running around like a complete buffoon and Lupus looked agitated, I wondered why, he wasn’t normally like this. I walked over to Lupus "What’s up, Lupus?". Lupus shrugged then continue looking around, I sighed once again, got up and walked around. I stood up as the sun reached its highest peak, I heard Inferno, Oracle and Lupus gather round Axel before we set out to the border of the pack. I heard Axel sigh, we can just tell by that, that this is going to be a very, very long journey. As we came upon the border, I saw a blonde wolf and a dark grey wolf, they both looked quite young. The dark grey wolf looked at me with wide curious eyes, his eyes were like the brightest amethyst, which intrigued me. Lupus, on the other hand, couldn’t stop looking at the blonde she-wolf, I had a feeling he liked her.... The she-wolf looked over at Lupus....To be honest, I am glad Lupus finally found someone he liked. I watched the two for a second longer before looking at the both of them and clearing my throat to catch their attention, the dark grey and the blonde wolf looked at me “What are your names?” I asked them. "My name is Romulus" the dark grey wolf told me while the blonde she-wolf said sweetly "And I am Mhina".
